XML integration with the fuphilment system on a daily basis. Link into myHermes delivery.
This project had a very tight deadline of only a couple of weeks. We enabled the current website to include products, then allowed users to create accounts and checkout.
Users could pay for products online and receive updates. To integrate into IFS Applications, we needed to create an XML file once a customer checked out. Then we uploaded it to a secure server, which the fulfilment system would check for daily.
With deadlines being so tight, we didn’t have time to create our own label and tracking system using delivery APIs. So we found a very useful tool which is cost-effective, called Ship Station.
This tool had a simple API we could use and implement quickly to transfer orders into the system. Once complete and this app would then handle the shipping labels and tracking via their chosen supplier.
On top of this tool, we could handle the packing from the warehouse. A simple click to print orders instantly.
